3 Body Problem
Hey guys the nerd blogger is here, now welcome to my second blog. This blog is basically about the famous 3 body problem.
The "3 body problem" is a problem of finding the path of star for a celestial body which has 3 stars. with our conventional methods we cannot find their path. If two bodies are there, we can expect the trajectory with the help of newtons gravitational laws using vectors.
But we do not get any general solutions in the case of 3 body problem. In 2 body system we get circular orbits as general solution by using Centre of mass. One advantage is that the paths of the 3 bodies are repeated. many of the physicists tried to find solution but they have made up to by finding the solutions in special cases than general cases.
Special cases in which we can find the solutions
- We can find the solutions in case when the three masses are in collinear. We get 3 families of periodical solutions
- In the case when the 3 masses form an equilateral triangle.
- When the masses are in the ratio of 3:4:5 (Pythagoras ratios)
- When the masses are equal, and they have angular momentum "Zero"
